CBD is a chemical compound found naturally in the cannabis plant. It does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of cannabis responsible for making users feel "high."
CBD can either be derived from marijuana or hemp—cousins in the cannabis family
Hemp and marijuana are both part of the species of cannabis plant, Cannabis Sativa L. While marijuana contains high amounts of THC (a psychotropic cannabinoid), hemp contains less than .3% THC and high amounts of CBD. Additionally, hemp is federally legal whereas marijuana is legal in only a handful of states.
Appropriate dosage depends on each individual’s unique situation. It is recommended that users start with a lower dose (usually around 10mg), and gradually increase their dosage until finding an optimal dose. Always speak with a pharmacist or medical provider prior to ingesting CBD.
Full spectrum CBD contains trace amounts of THC (less than .3%). Depending on the amount ingested, there is a chance of testing positive for THC (marijuana) while using CBD. If you are subject to drug testing, it is important that you are aware of this. As with any medical product, it is important to consult your physician or a pharmacist prior to treatment with CBD products.
Yes CBD is Legal. Under Federal Law, the Farm Bill signed in 2018 made CBD from Hemp legal. Each state does have its own law regarding the legality of CBD and therefore the legality of CBD can vary from state to state. In North Carolina, it is legal to sell CBD products as long as the product does not contain more than the legal amount of .3% of THC.
It is not necessary to store CBD products in the refrigerator- but it is recommended to be kept in a cool dry place, and OUT OF THE REACH OUT CHILDREN.
